Located in the newly restored historic bank building in the heart of downtown Salt Lake, Hotel Monaco invites guests to indulge in the guilty pleasures that make travel fun. Celebrated designer Cheryl Rowley has embraced the space with rich furnishings, including the popular "harem couch," which entices guests to relax, mingle and enjoy the eclectic décor's touches of humor, whimsy, and elegant, yet edgy style. The Living Room also provides an elegant setting for the Hosted Evening Wine Reception, which can include a richly deserved chair massage. Tall rooms, with eight-foot beds and high showerheads, are available upon request. Hotel Monaco's Guppy Love program offers guests the pleasure of having a goldfish companion in their rooms for their stay. Hotel staff cares for the goldfish, leaving guests to simply enjoy their aquatic roommates. As with all Kimpton Hotels, pets are welcomed with a treat and supplied with food and water dishes to use during their stay. Walking services are available. Rome restaurants are much like its architecture. You'll find restaurants serving generations old recipes as well as a few modern epicurean experimentations. Whether authentic or the menu of the moment, no city serves Italian food like Rome. Every neighborhood seems to have its own variety and style, but you've never tasted pastas and pizzas, salads and wines like those served in the restaurants of Rome. And, you'll also find a few ethnic eateries for when you've had your fill of pastas. French, American, Mediterranean, and Continental dining can be found within the city limits. Rome recreation is all about exploring the natural and man-made wonders of the great city. Sightseeing is actually the number one form of recreation, with walking the city and sights keeping every visitor active every day. But you'll also find other ways to your favorite recreation. Beautiful golf courses are available in Rome, but many are private so be sure to check for visitor privileges. We recommend getting in your rounds at Parco de Medici as it allows temporary memberships. And, there are numerous places to get in some horseback riding.
